Day 2:
The battle began early in the morning on July 2nd 1863. Lee directed his two divisions to march south untill they reach federal forces. Lee and his army would attack at this point. Hills had an army of two thousands men. The federal army was ready for Lee and his army. The left side of the federal line was held by major Daniel Sickle's third army. The confederates were on their way to the base of Litlle Roundtop but the federal reinforcements were not going out without a fight. More up north, elements of the division armies of the confederate corps advanced to Cemetery Ridge before they were defeated and forced to surrender. The second day of war led to over 8,000 deaths on each side. Lee's armies had gained ground but failed to defeat the Federal army and capture their position. The Federal army was too strong to take down.
